Colour Filter Flash Experiment

I recently purchased a set of Olympus OM T32 colour filters, 5 colours in total Red, Orange, Yellow, Green and Blue, that slide onto either my Olympus OM T32 flash unit or my twin T28 macro flash heads.

This experiment was more for fun than anything else but the result was a lot better than expected. The above shot was taken at Morden Bog near Wareham in Dorset and it is of lichen, which is typically very pale green or white in colour. 3 colour filters were used; Red, Orange and Yellow. The Yellow was attached to the Olympus OM T32 flash unit that was placed to the left rear of the subject, whilst the Red and Orange filters were added to the Olympus OM T28 twin flashes fitted to the front of the macro lens.

The lens used was the Zuiko Olympus OM 80mm F4 (1:4) Macro lens on the Olympus OM Telescopic Auto Tube 65-116 at 1x magnification using Kodak EBX Positive film, Camera Olympus OM 4ti. Shot taken at F16.

The critic in you will notice that the yellow flash was placed too close to the subject, the result being a yellow hue effect around some of the lichen. That being said I am still pleasantly pleased with the end result and will try this on different subjects.
