Birds at Hengistbury Head
Visited Hengistbury Head yesterday to continue to try out my new lens, the Sigma 50-500mm F4-6.3 APO DG. The weather turned out better than expected, and these are my favourite shots from the day. I managed to capture this turnstone (Arenaria interpres) showing why it got its name.

A Little Egret (Egretta garzetta) in flight.

At the far point came across both this Grey Wagtail (Motacilla cinerea) and a Pipit having a bath. I think the latter is a Water Pipit (Anthus spinoletta) and no pun intended!

Walking around to the sea facing side of the spit I came across this Oystercatcher (Haematopus ostralegus).

and finally also managed to get a group of Ringed Plovers (Charadrius hiaticula) in flight.
