Birds at Haven Boatyard, Lymington

These images of birds were taken on a recent trip to Haven Boatyard at Lymington part of the Lymington – Keyhaven nature reserve. The reserve is an excellent location for a bird photographer, as it offers several easy circular walks around the mudflats and marsh areas, with good close views/photo opportunities of the local bird populations. You will likely to be able to see several different species of wader, wildfowl and herons at this time of year.

All of these pictures were taken with the Sigma 50-500mm F4-6.3 APO DG at F6.3

The next set are Brent Geese (Branta leucopsis) landing, taking off and in flight. I quite like the Topaz black & white effect that I applied on a couple of the images.

Last image is of a Shelduck (Tadorna tadorna), doing what shelducks do a lot of the time and so titled the image ‘bottoms up’.
