Night Sky in the New Forest

Got inspired by another member on the Pixalo forum with their night sky images, who also kindly posted up a tutorial, linked here, on how to take them. This is my first attempt shot in the New Forest last week. I used my 8mm fisheye F2.8 film lens with the E620 digital camera body, trialing several different exposure times & ISO settings.

ISO setting of either 1000 or 1600 with an exposure time of 30 seconds produced the best result, using the 500 rule. My calculation was as follows, 8 (lens diameter)  x 2 (crop factor) = 16. Then 500/16 = 31.25 seconds, round down to 30 seconds.

My brother then lit up the tree with a torch for the next shot (he gently waived the light around)
