Canford Magna & Dunyeats Hill nature reserve

The Monday of the Bank holiday weekend just gone saw a visit to a couple of new locations that are mentioned on the Hampshire Dragonflies web site, Canford Magna and Dunyeats Hill nature reserve.

Canford Magna site runs alongside the River Stour and is situated near Wimborne Minister, whereas Dunyeats Hill nature reserve, which is reasonably close to Canford Magna, is a small area of heath land with an acid pond.

Although the weather took a turn for the worse the Canford Magna site looks very promising. On the other hand Dunyeats Hill nature reserve less so as in my opinion, on first impressions, it appears very similar to the Ramsdown reserve site a hit and miss location. The jury is out until a visit in better conditions.

All of 3 photos are from Canford Magna.
