Wildlife

A Snipe

Just over a week ago this Snipe (Gallinago gallinago) kindly decided to show itself in the rain right in front of the Tern Hide that looks out over Ibsley water at Blashford Lakes wildlife reserve. Here it looks up before walking along the bank towards the hide.

This is the snipe probing with its long bill in soft mud for worms.

As luck would have it I also managed to capture the snipe with a worm in its long bill.
