Martin Down nature reserve
This selection of photo’s are from two visits to Martin Down nature reserve in June, and comprises of a mixture of macro and wildlife. The first time I took my Olympus camera & 60mm macro lens but there was very little about apart from a few Common Blue butterflies (Polyommatus icarus) and Forester moths (Adscita statices).

However I did see quite a few birds on the walk around the reserve and so decided to go back the following day with my Canon camera & 100-400 lens. This proved to be a much more succesful day, getting photo’s of the Yellowhammer (Emberiza citrinella), Linnet (Carduelis cannabina), Skylark (Alauda arvensis), and a Chiffchaff (Phylloscopus collybita).
My brother kindly gave me his Canon EF500mm f/4 lens for part of the walk around the reserve and the shot of the singing skylark, the featured image of this post, was with this lens.
