Insects at Blashford Lakes
Here is a selection of insects all taken at Blashford Lakes nature reserve. The first two are Leatherbugs (Coreidae), two of several found on the brambles beside the Goosander hide path. I believe the first Leatherbug may be a Dock Bug (Coreus marginatus) and the second possibly a Box Bug (Gonocerus acuteangulatus)

The next one is a yet to be identified insect, possibly another type of bug.

This pair of Small Coppers (Lycaena phlaeas) were found close by the Goosander path as well the other week.

Next a selection of dragonflies.
Both the male and female Common Darter (Sympetrum striolatum) located on the far path back from the Lapwing Hide.
The male

The Female face on

Finally a couple of a Migrant Hawker (Aeshna mixta) in flight just outside the Ivy South Hide.
