Tuckton trip

I used a recent trip to Tuckton to continue putting the new Canon gear (7D Mark II, 100-400 IS II lens, 1.4x extneder) through its paces, yielding a few more pleasing results. This time the lion share of photo’s are of birds in flight.

Beginning with this Seagull.

Also a Grey Heron (Ardea cinerea) made a fly by.

followed by a flock of Godwits

A while later I sighted a Little Egret (Egretta garzetta) walking across the flood plain a short distance away, and I decided to stop as had a feeling that it was going to take flight. This decision proved to be the right one as shown by these next two photo’s.

The other wildlife on show that day were a Mute Swan (Cygnus olor), a pair of Magpies (Pica pica), and a possible Firecrest (Regulus ignicapillus).
